Every missionary must learn the language of the culture to which they're sent. Culture is a language. Learning to read that language is the hallmark of those who understand the times and know what to do.

Most "intelligence failure" comes not from a lack of information but from an inability to connect the dots of the information we already have. The tribe of Issachar knew how to connect those dots. As a modern-day Issacharian, you will learn how to think in such a way that you can connect the dots and acquire a prophetically intelligent conclusion.

The hardest thing to see is what is right in front of us. You will learn how to observe clearly the obvious and to state clearly the obvious, the most demanding of semiotic feats.

MODULE 7  //  INSIGHT FROM HINDSIGHT  

The tribe of Issachar did not just know the past. They fully understood it. From their “hindsight” of the past they received “insight” into the present. You will learn to live out of the past, not in it, and to remake the past anew. Modern-day Issacharians do not just curate the tradition; they renew the tradition.

In history's march to the future, the foreseen is seldom seen. The unforeseen is. We will study a prophetic people’s ability to understand the unforeseen as it relates to the present and future.

MODULE 9 // DOUBLE VISION

True prophetic function unites empirical knowledge and intuitive knowledge
to gain “depth perception” of an issue. This brings together an eagle’s eye view (clarity from high above) and a frog's eye view (clarity at the ground level) to perceive a 3-D view!

MODULE 10  //   BACKLASH AND PUSHBACK  

The “punishment” you face as a semiotic is seeing the dawn before the rest of the world—who often mistake day’s first light for dusk. You must learn that backlash and pushback will come from those who discredit what you see and brace yourself for it.

MODULE 11  //  THE PATH LESS TRAVELED  

Jesus told Peter that a day would come when he would go (be led) in a direction he did not wish to go (John 21:18). You will see that your call is to the path less traveled by. “The sign of God's presence with you now? Your feet are where you did not expect them to be” (Henri Nouwen).

MODULE 12  //  THE ULTIMATE SIGN  

The way of those who know and understand the times sometimes means Brailling and scanning the Ultimate Sign, which is Jesus. Jesus is the sign "everyone is looking for" (Mark 1:37). A sacrament is when the sign and signifier become one. Jesus himself is the biggest "sign"—he is our sacrament, the sign of the new people of God.

MODULE 13  //  THE ROPE OF HOPE  

You will learn that sign-reading and sign-making are acts of hope. Issacharians are high-hopes, great-hope people. They are always throwing from the future the rope of hope to people thrashing and drowning in the present.

MODULE 14  //  TRENDS: PATHWAYS TO TRUTH AND LIES  

You will see how every age, every epoch, has its trends. As prophetic people, however, we are not in the trends business; we are presenters of the truth. You will learn that what is of real importance is determining which trends tend toward truth and which ones tend toward evil and falsehood.

MODULE 15  //  DO YOU SEE WHAT I SEE?  

Through prophetic function, we don't see different things; we see the same things
differently. Jesus didn't reject the past or reject the Law; He reframed our reading of the past and shifted the paradigm of how we are to read the Scriptures. We will study this in light of his exchange with the lawyer in Luke 10:25- 37.
